ICSE English Syllabus for Class 6

ICSE is one of India’s premier boards of education.  ICSE stands for Indian Certificate of Secondary Education.  The ICSE board like all other boards nationwide and worldwide is trying to make learning a more joyful and thoughtful experience.  The ICSE English Syllabus for class 6 reflects this move towards incorporating a more wholesome learning experience for students.
 

The ICSE English Syllabus for Class 6 has the following features:

  1. English Grammar:  Nouns, Pronouns, Verbs, Tenses, Voice, Adjectives, Adverbs, Sentence and Phrase, Subject-Verb Agreement, Reported Speech, Framing Questions, Prepositions, Conjunctions and Punctuations.
  2. Applied Grammar:   Gap Filling/Sentence Completion, Dialogue Completion, Sentence Reordering, Editing, Omission and Sentence Transformation.
  3. Reading Section:  Reading Comprehension.  Recommended reading includes Panchatantra Tales, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by JK Rowling and Around the World in Eighty Days by Jules Verne.
  4. Writing Section:  Formal Letter, Informal Letter, Diary Entry, Notice Writing, Message Writing, Debate, Speech, Article, Paragraph, Report and Story Completion. 

ICSE English Question Papers for Class 6

ICSE English question papers for class 6 are designed in order for students to develop good proficiency in English.  They help students to communicate in a thoughtful, empathetic and clear manner.   The topics covered in the English question papers reflect the integrated nature of the ICSE syllabus for class 6 English.   Students will become very good in communicating in English if they thoroughly study with the help of the ICSE syllabus and question papers for class 6.
