CBSE Class 6 Maths Question Papers

What is CBSE and why CBSE?

CBSE is Central Board for Secondary Education which was initiated by NCERT (National Council for Educational Research and Training) for attaining the objectives which are interconnected. Some of the main objectives of CBSE are listed below:

  • To lay down the examination conditions and to conduct examinations on common scale,
  • To allot certificates of qualification to candidates who are qualified,
  • To meet educational requirements of students; specially whose parents are employed in transferable jobs,
  • To lay down the course or curriculum which is to be updated timely,
  • To raise the educational standards of the country.

CBSE has provided with question papers that are similar to the original examination papers. These type of papers help students in preparing for exams in a better way and also in making self evaluation of their preparation and the level of studies of the student in accordance to the standards laid by CBSE. These papers are based on the syllabus laid down by CBSE for a particular class and subject. These papers are also helpful in giving us the knowledge about which all topics have more chances to be included, the scoring pattern in exam, the kind of paper set up the student have to face and answer, the pattern that is to be followed in the examination, the most scoring topics, weightage of marks for included topics, the type of questions that might come in the actual exam,.

These question papers also help in improvement of the marks of a student by letting him practice more. Mathematics is a subject that requires a lot of practice. That really does not mean at all that other subjects do not require practicing. So, every subject has its own set of papers. Practice is the key to success and practicing on our own is not enough with the increasing competition and advancing studies.

The CBSE 6th class maths question paper contains questions which are most likely to come in the maths examination of class 6th. It might also include questions from exam papers of past year. Many a times maths question paper for class 6 CBSE is set in a way that they can also be used for mid terms preparations also. So at times when a student is done with preparation of a particular topic and required to evaluate his knowledge and accuracy on the same, he or she can attempt questions of that particular topic and check his or her knowledge and accuracy level.

The CBSE 6th class maths question papers can easily be grabbed from .the CBSE website. One can also get the 6th standard CBSE maths question papers from markets at general stationary shops. CBSE 6th class maths question paper, help in improving the scores of a student by making him practice more and more. In today’s world, competition is getting very tough. To maintain the place in the race of success and that too to be in front, one cannot compromise and neglect the practice it takes and is required for getting good scores.

Let us see the contents ot topics that are included while making CBSE maths question paper for class 6, by this we mean, the topics in class 6th maths. The topics with their description in brief are below:

  • Number System
This topic includes: knowing our numbers, place values for big numbers, simplifications, playing with numbers, factorizations, HCF, LCM, whole numbers, negative numbers and integers and about fractions.
  • Algebra
The introduction of basic algebra, simple patterns, introduction to variables
  • Ratio and proportions
Introduction to ratios, proportions, unitary method, word problems on the same
  • Geometry
Basics, its link to daily experiences, angles, triangles, quadrilaterals, circles, understanding of basic 2D and 3D shapes, symmetries, reflections, constructions
  • Mensuration
Concepts of perimeter and area of different shapes
  • Data Handling
Collection and organization of data, pictographs, bar graphs

A student should first practice the topics on his own. Then, once completed he or she should revise the whole of syllabus before starting to attempt any question paper. Once the revision is completed, a student may attempt the paper. When the test is done, the answers can be verified by matching the answers with the ones provided by CBSE with every question paper. This will help the student to know his or her stronger and weaker parts of the subject for which he or she attempted the test. It does not matter that the student has practiced a lot before attempting the question paper but the result of the attempt will tell actually the level of his or her preparation. Thus, student is able to practice more the parts in which he or she scored less in.

So, by improving the skills in the topic in which the student scored less and required more attention on, he or she can now get good marks in the actual exam. After the successful completion of a paper and then verifying the result, a student will get to know what he or she has learned in actual, how much he or she has understood, what more is needed to be done, what is left and which topics are needed to be practiced more on.

Mathematics is a subject that requires a lot and lot of practice. It is all about numbers in maths. One should be thorough with his or her concepts well. If the methods are not clear, it will get difficult to solve any question on the basis of it whether it is in CBSE maths question paper for class 6 or in actual maths examinations.

We all know that the key to success is only practice and knowledge and practicing on our own is clearly not at all enough in the tough competition that we face today. Thus the students are required to learn and understand things properly and also to practice more and more. This will ensure that they stay ahead in the competition or race of success.

CBSE Syllabus for Class 9

CBSE stands for Central Board of Secondary Education which was set up by NCERT. The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) set CBSE with the major aim of running central schools chain which are run for the government employees who are working in transferable jobs which also involves even movements in mid – year. Even private schools are also now affiliated to CBSE because in private sector employees even are also moving from place to place for their jobs. The syllabus that is been offered by the CBSE is structured, predictable, controlled and also organized in a proper manner. To keep the content advanced in accordance to knowledge of the students, the curriculum is timely revised and then updated accordingly. With time passing knowledge is spreading everywhere and so education is getting vast. For being up to date with changing time, the curriculum is also revised timely to cover and include records of events occurring and advancements required with increase in educational value.

The updating of curriculum by the CBSE can be done either yearly or in a gap of few years. This depends on the events occurring in the world and the affect they had on the already set content topics covered in it, the new additions required to be made as new things in educational structure are achieved, or anything that is now of not much importance and is to be left out for betterment of educational knowledge of the students. The syllabus is set for all classes from 1st to 12th.

The whole syllabus of CBSE in India is set in such a way that an average child is able to learn all the stuff included in the syllabus without heavy burden on the student. If the basics of a student are not strong and solid and thorough then the student is not able to perform well in further classes. With advancement in education, the practical and applicative knowledge of contents included in the syllabus set by CBSE is stressed on more so the student is able to make judgments on where and how he or she can apply his or her knowledge, to what extent knowledge is applicable, also that it is even applicable or not etc. this is all done along with the proper theoretical knowledge given to students so that they also know the logic behind things. CBSE also conducts board exams under AISSCE (All India Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination) in every spring at the end of term of 10th and 12th classes. The CBSE class ix syllabus also lies under board syllabus class and is set and followed throughout all CBSE affiliated schools in India for class 9.

The languages English and Hindi stresses much on writing abilities like letters of different kinds(formal, informal, personal, resignations, appointments, various applications etc.), articles, notices, passages, story writing etc. These are very important to learn because they are of daily practice throughout the lifetime of an individual. The Sanskrit is included in languages with basics of it since it can become a good career option for some students mostly in teaching and education fields. This is an subject generally with Hindi, this means the student make a choice in between Hindi or Sanskrit and choose any one of them to study in class 9th term.
The CBSE helps by providing sample papers that are based on the CBSE class 9th syllabus. The students can also get previous years’ class 9 papers to practice more. The sample papers and exam papers are both constructed on the basis of 9th class CBSE syllabus only. They help a student to know the exam structure he or she has to undertake in finals and even in mid terms. The common syllabus of 9th CBSE syllabus is applicable at all CBSE and its affiliated schools. This practice of common study material taken up also helps in eradicating discrimination that is made on the basis of things other than knowledge of a student may it be caste, religion, financial status etc. In a way, the CBSE 9 class syllabus is helping in advancement and betterment of the society and our country.
