Earth Day

Today is the day that reminds us about the promises that all of us have made to protect the environment and the life on the earth. This day is called as the earth day and every year it is celebrated on the 22nd April. It was started in the year 1970 and gradually celebrated globally in more than 193 countries with the help of earth day networks. The first celebration was held in the United States of America after the oil spill incident. This day was marked as the beginning of the modern environmental movement.
The earth day also allows us to appreciate the natural wonders of our unique and incredible planet and encourages us to take significant steps to save plants, animals and the environment. On this day, several national and international activities are conducted worldwide so as to take effective measures to save the planet and to protect the nature.
Most countries conduct various activities to spread the awareness of environment protection. Planting trees, saving the amount of energy consumption, recycling plastics and volunteering for green projects are some of the important events that are conducted every year in different countries.
In order to raise the awareness about the environment issue like global warming, several communities, which are associated with EDN (Earth Day Network), persuade people to buy green products. They also encourage people for various activities like planting more and more trees and plants, cleaning parks and roads, removing garbage, etc.
Today is the 46 annual earth day. It is also a significant day as the world leaders are meeting at the United Nations to sign the Paris Climate Agreement. The Paris Climate Deal will be signed by the US, China and 160 other countries so as to stem global warming. With this agreement, we will be able to keep our environment clean and protect our planet.
