Difference between CBSE and ICSE Board Curriculum

Education is the ladder of success. It is the most important tool that gives students an opportunity to determine their capabilities. In India, there are many educational boards that give learning assistance to students. The CBSE board, ICSE board and several other state boards update their learning materials from time to time so as to give students the best education. Parents always wish to give their child the best education at any cost, but it is difficult for them to choose the right education board. The ICSE and CBSE boards are counted amongst the best educational boards in India. Here, some important points are discussed that will help parents in identifying the course structure of the CBSE and ICSE boards.

CBSE Board Curriculum

The CBSE board syllabus is designed in line with the current learning requirements. The board has employed qualified educators, who conceptualize and design the syllabus in a clear and concise manner. The board offers a well-structured curriculum for higher secondary level. It gives prime importance to science and math subjects. Hence, the curriculum is beneficial for students who are appearing for engineering and medical entrance exams. Most of the competitive exams are also based on the CBSE curriculum. Besides, the syllabus is compatible for students who often move from one place to another. The CBSE board curriculum is more suitable for students whose parents are central government employees. Apart from this, the board provides NCERT based text books that are comprehensive and up-to-date. Moreover, the CBSE board conducts a maximum number of talent search exams as compared to the ICSE board.

ICSE Board Curriculum

The ICSE board syllabus is vast and ideal for elementary and middle level students. It provides education to students on myriads of subjects. Through an ICSE course plan, a student gets knowledge on various subjects that are generally not offered by the CBSE board. The curriculum of the ICSE board is designed in such a manner that students will gain practical knowledge along with the theory. The course structure of English and Math subjects of the ICSE board is quite advanced as compared to the CBSE board. The syllabus is designed as per the international educational standards. Hence, the curriculum is ideal for students who wish to study abroad in future.
