Syllabus is the most effective course material that guides students by imparting relevant expertise as well as instructions. Syllabus refers as the useful learning tool, which is essential to learn each course or subject. Even to sit for an exam, students must follow a syllabus to understand the topics that need to be covered to give answers of the questions. Additionally, syllabus is a structured format that allows students to understand each subject or course as well as the importance of learning that course. On the other hand, syllabus keeps the students’ exam preparation on track. It includes an extensive information ranging from the names of the topics to exam pattern.

However, CAT or Common Admission Test is the most prestigious examination that allows students to pursue the MBA course in the top B-schools in India. This exam is organized every year and a standardized pattern is followed for this test. However, CAT syllabus is organized as well as it is divided into three sections and each section measures each aspect of the students. Quantitative Ability (QA), Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VRC) and Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR) are three sections that are included in the curriculum designed for the CAT test.

However, CAT exam preparation is important for the MBA aspirants. It is an extensive process and students usually start this preparation from June-July. As we all know, Math is an important subject for any competitive exam and this subject is also included in the CAT syllabus in the Quantitative Ability or QA section. Some Math topics incorporated in the syllabus are Number systems, trigonometry, geometry, probability, algebra, permutation combination, mensuration, averages, time and work, percentages, quadratic and linear equations, profit and loss and others. To practice these Math topics included in the syllabus prepared for CAT exam, students must follow CAT mock test papers. However, solved CAT test papers are useful learning materials for the students. According to academicians, students must follow these solved papers after completion of the syllabus to keep the preparation level a step ahead.
